Welcome to RiverDance
Shelties. We are located in South Central Pennsylvania and have
been active within the breed since 1998. Our start being within
our local County 4H Dog Club with our then 10 year old daughter
Lindsay and her bi black sheltie Maximillian. While active in
this club we placed several CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and TDI
(Therapy Dog International) certifications upon our shelties
and participated in 4H performance competitions and dog therapy.
We ventured into the
conformation ring in the year 2000 with our first show hopeful
Can Ch Starswept Barwood Bravado, 2 pts, CGC, TDI, Jamie. Since
that time we have finished two Canadian Ch's and gained Am points
on two other shelties before we had our first homebred Am Ch
this year with BISS RiverDance Dressed to Kilt, Rory, who is
now loved and owned by Wespointe Shelties of Canada. We can't
thank Iona and Akadia Shelties enough for loving and promoting
our boy to his Am Ch. in such a quick manner. Rory also placed
second in his quality packed ASSA National Class this year in
2007.
Currently we have in
residence our foundation girl Morrighan and her daughter Emma.
Morrighan is the dam to Rory above and Emma is a repeat of this
breeding. Morrighan also has a daughter who lives with her breeder
in Canada. (Starswept Shelties)
Our goal in shelties
is to maintain the inherent qualities of our foundation girl
and continue to improve upon this with the standard as our guide.
All of our shelties are house dogs and pets first. We participate
in the conformation ring as a serious hobby when we can. We do
not breed very often and have had only three litters to date.
Each has been well thought out and planned with much research
and consideration and had very positive outcomes we can be proud
of.
Please feel free to visit
our shelties on the following pages and contact me anytime via
email with any questions or comments about our shelties.
